About us

May Shaw Home Care is proud to say we have been providing Home Care Packages (HCP) to the community of Glamorgan Spring Bay Municipality since 1987 and in 2012 we commenced delivering HCP to the community of Dorset Municipality.

 

All Home Care Packages are delivered on a Consumer Directed Care (CDC) Basis. The Consumer Directed Care approach which puts you – the Consumer – in the director’s chair. CDC encourages you to share what is important to you and we work together to identify meaningful goals that can help to improve your health and wellbeing, and to keep you connected with family, friends and community.

including assistance with shopping, bill paying and attendance at appointments

including mowing and edging, trimming and pruning, weeding, planting and garden waste removal

What is a Home Care Package?

Home Care Packages (HCP) are one of the ways that older Australians can access affordable care and help at home. They are designed for those with more complex care needs that go beyond what the Commonwealth Home Support Programme can provide.

 

Home Care Packages can be an option if you need a coordinated approach to the delivery of your help at home - perhaps because you need help with many everyday tasks, or the care you need is more complex or intensive.

​The Australian Government subsidises the cost of home support services that you can receive in the comfort of your own home. What you need to pay depends on your services and in some cases, your financial situation.

What services can I get?

Depending on the level of Home Care Package you receive, you can get assistance with a range of different services. The three main categories of services are:

  •  Services to keep you well and independent – including personal care, nursing services, allied health.

  •  Services to keep you safe in your home – including cleaning, home maintenance and modifications,   assistive technology.

  •  Services to keep you connected to your community – including transport, social support services.
